Raising money, expanding programs, and attracting board and staff all are helped when your organization is well known in the community. You believe in your mission and want others to share your enthusiasm and commitment. Marketing and promotion are a key part of building a strong organization.

This workshop will help you:

-Identify and communicate your organization's unique role
-Master basic tools of nonprofit marketing and promotion
-Help all board and staff members take part in the PR program
-Integrate a marketing mindset into everything you do
-Reach your most important audiences

About Bruce Turkel

Bruce Turkel is an advertising and branding expert who helps make his clients' brands more valuable. He has worked with great companies including Nike, Discovery Channel, HBO, Baptist Hospital, and the Miami and Puerto Rico Convention and Visitors Bureaus.

Bruce has spoken at MIT, UM, and Harvard, been heard on NPR, FOX, and CNN and featured in The New York Times, Fast Company and Communications Arts Magazines. He has published three books on advertising and marketing including his latest - Building Brand Value.

Why has he done all this? Bruce says it's simple: "I don't play harmonica that well."

About Barbara E. Kahn

Kahn has been Dean since 2007, after 17 years at The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. She is an internationally recognized scholar on brand loyalty, variety seeking, retail assortment issues, and patient decision-making. Her research provides marketing managers with a better understanding of the consumer choice process.
 
She has published more than 50 articles in leading academic journals.

Under Kahn's leadership, the UM School of Business Administration is building an international reputation for excellence.  The School has attracted top faculty from some of the world's leading business schools to enhance the caliber of its research and teaching; implemented a number of new and innovative academic programs; and established new partnerships with the business community.

Kahn has been elected president of the Association of Consumer Research and the Journal of Consumer Research Policy Board. She is or has been on the editorial boards of the Journal of Marketing Research, Marketing Science, the Journal of Marketing, the Journal of Consumer Research, the Journal of Behavioral Decision Making and Marketing Letters.
