The Services Special Interest Group (SERVSIG) of the American Marketing Association (AMA) is pleased to announce the 21st Annual SERVSIG Doctoral Consortium, preceding the Frontiers in Service Conference, to be held at the University of Miami.

The consortium will begin with a welcome reception on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 and will continue with a full day of sessions on Thursday, June 26, 2014. The consortium is designed to help doctoral students and new faculty succeed in their careers. By promoting an intimate and collegial atmosphere, the consortium provides a wonderful opportunity for participants to interact with the field's leading service scholars and to get feedback from them on research topics being pursued by participants.

Examples of topics that would be covered during the event are:

  • Starting and managing your career in academia
  • Building connections and collaboration with other researchers and industry
  • Identifying interesting and relevant research questions
  • Being a productive and effective researcher
  • Getting through the review process
  • Approaches to impactful teaching
  • Managing research, teaching loads, and service requirements

The consortium presents unique opportunities for doctoral students to meet some of the world’s eminent and emerging service scholars and benefit from their experiences.

Doctoral consortium participants must register in order to participate in the event. The consortium event is supported by Arizona State University’s Center for Services Leadership, the University of Miami and Fordham University Schools of Business.
