CALL FOR ABSTRACTS AND POSTERS

The Fourth INFORMS Optimization Society Conference
“Optimization and Analytics: New Frontiers in Theory and Practice”

Hosted by the University of Miami School of Business Administration

February 24-26, 2012

Coral Gables, Florida

The INFORMS Optimization Society solicits abstracts and posters for its fourth conference, whose broad theme is “Optimization and Analytics: New Frontiers in Theory and Practice”. The meeting will be held on the University of Miami campus in beautiful Coral Gables, Florida, a suburb of metropolitan Miami. Coral Gables was one of the first planned communities in the United States and features a wide range of shops and restaurants. A center of economic and recreational activity, Coral Gables is only minutes away from Miami International Airport, with easy access to the Seaport, South Beach and Coconut Grove (which are well known for their restaurants and vibrant night life), as well as attractions such as the Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden, the Vizcaya Museum, the Venetian Pool, and the Biltmore Hotel and golf course.

The conference organizers invite you to submit theoretical and applied work that highlights the conference theme. Work that focuses on new or novel applications in the interface of multiple disciplines is especially welcome. Specific areas of interest include (but are not limited to) descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive Analytics; optimization theory, practice, and software; the use/combination of optimization and analytics in/with related fields such as probability and statistics, computer science, constraint programming, engineering, artificial intelligence, as well as natural and social sciences.

Contributed abstracts and posters will be accepted based on quality, suitability to the conference, and space availability.  Abstract submission is available through the conference web site http://bus.miami.edu/ios and follows a format that is similar to the format used for the INFORMS annual meetings. Authors submitting a poster should enter an abstract into the submission system and explicitly indicate that they want to be considered for the poster sessions. If space and time constraints prevent a paper from being included in a formal session, the submitting author(s) may be given the option of presenting their work in one of the poster sessions.
