University of Miami School of Business and Family Firm Institute to Host Seminars for Latin American Family Firm Professionals
Coral Gables, Fla. – April 28, 2011 – The University of Miami School of Business Administration has partnered with the Family Firm Institute (FFI) to host a series of seminars in Miami for Spanish-speaking professionals serving the family enterprise field. The 2011 Interdisciplinary Seminars for Family Enterprise Professionals will be held May 11 – 13, 2011. The seminars, which will be taught in Spanish, are designed for financial services and financial wealth advisors, accountants, consultants, educators, researchers and other professionals who help perpetuate trans-generational family business and family wealth in Latin America.
Three cornerstone courses will be offered on topics including interdisciplinary family enterprise advising, which will expose participants to concepts and models for interdisciplinary advising; working with multi-generational families to govern family wealth, shared assets and human capital, which will feature a series of experiential sessions and a case study to guide participants in understanding family wealth in the context of the family enterprise; and working with family enterprises more effectively, which will feature case studies and role plays to address common client situations and problems, as well as opportunities for skill development.
FFI has held its Latin American seminars for the past three years, with others in Panama and Colombia. The Miami series will take place at the Conrad Miami hotel in downtown Miami. The courses will provide vital interdisciplinary education that enables participants to better serve family enterprises. They are the core courses for the FFI’s certificates in Family Business Advising and Family Wealth Advising. Registration and more information can be found on the event website.
This is the first series to be co-hosted by the University of Miami School of Business Administration as part of its new relationship with FFI, and it sets the stage for new programs that are currently in development as part of the partnership.
