Financial Times Ranks School’s Executive MBA Program
Among World’s Best and No. 1 in Florida
Coral Gables, Fla. – Oct. 25, 2010 – The Financial Times has ranked the Executive MBA (EMBA) program at University of Miami School of Business Administration No. 37 in the U.S. in the newspaper’s 2010 ranking of the world’s top EMBA programs. The School is the only Florida business school to make the list this year. The report also ranked the School No. 26 in the world for research, which is a measure of the caliber of the School’s faculty.
“The University of Miami Executive MBA program is distinguished by its highly-experienced and diverse student body, world-class faculty, and globally-oriented curriculum, which is reflected in this ranking,” said Barbara E. Kahn, dean of the University of Miami School of Business Administration. “The research ranking, which places the School among the world’s elite research institutions, is especially noteworthy and is a testament to the remarkable faculty we have built as part of our strategy to achieve global preeminence.”
The School’s research ranking is based on the number of faculty publications in leading academic and practitioner journals. The overall ranking is based on the research and other school data as well as a survey of the EMBA class that graduated three years ago. That survey measures how successful and satisfied graduates have been in their careers since earning the degree.
The School’s Executive MBA program, which is designed for accomplished professionals with management experience, has been offered since 1973, making it one of the nation’s longest-running programs. In addition to the traditional EMBA program, the School offers an EMBA in Health Sector Management and Policy program designed for those in the health care field and a Global EMBA program taught in Spanish. The EMBA program is delivered at the School’s main campus, as well as in Palm Beach, Fla. and in Puerto Rico.
