UNIVERSITY OF MIAMI SCHOOL OF BUSINESS TO LAUNCH FOUR NEW ONE-YEAR SPECIALIZED MASTER’S PROGRAMS
Coral Gables, Fla. – March 20, 2014 - The University of Miami School of Business Administration has announced the launch of four new full-time specialized master’s programs. Each program, to begin in fall 2004, is geared toward specific career paths and can be completed in less than one year. The new programs are in addition to the School’s existing Master of Science in Accounting and the Master of Science in Taxation.
“The past five or so years have shown an increasing demand from executives, from both those hiring and those seeking jobs, for greater offerings in specialized master’s programs,” said Gene Anderson, dean of the University of Miami School of Business Administration. “These new master’s programs will enable recent college graduates, as well as those with professional work experience, to develop business knowledge and leadership skills in particular areas, making them more marketable in just 10 months.”
The new programs include:
Master of Science in Business Analytics
This program trains students to analyze big data so that abstract figures can be turned into meaningful information with which to predict consumer behavior and forecast critical outcomes for organizations. With the ability to make important business inferences, students will be well positioned to help companies realize a greater return on investment.
Master of Arts in Economics
This program is designed for those who want to skillfully apply economic principles to solve real-world problems. The program is particularly appealing to those who may want to continue their education at the PhD level.
Master of Science in Finance
This program refines quantitative aptitude with an emphasis on developing communication skills. This is a distinct advantage over other similar programs and will better prepare students for the competitive field of finance.
Master of Science in International Business
As our world gets smaller, there is an ever-increasing need for professionals to meet challenges and leverage opportunities in markets around the globe. This program exposes students to the intricacies of international economies while developing regional competency in areas of interest.
