New Chairs Named For Two Departments
December 01, 2007
Dean Barbara E. Kahn has named new chairs for two academic departments as part of the restructuring of the School of Business.
Professor Edward K. Baker III was named Chair of the Management Science Department. He succeeds Dr. Anuj Mehrotra, whom Dean Kahn has appointed Vice Dean of Graduate Business Programs. Dr. Baker joined the faculty in 1978. His research interests include combinatorial optimization and computational complexity issues as they apply to problems of vehicle routing and crew scheduling. He also is interested in the applications of operations research and statistics to problems in marine resources management, such as simulation studies of the impact of recreational boating and marina development on Florida manatees and their habitats. He was previously chair of the department, from 1988 to 2002.
