Accounting Professor Joins Editorial Board of Leading Publication

Andrew Leone, professor of accounting, has been named an associate editor of the Journal of Accounting and Economics. Leone will serve a term of three years, during which he will review up to three manuscripts a year. Leone joined the UM School of Business in 2008 from Penn State’s Smeal College of Business where he was an associate professor of accounting. His research focuses on economics-based empirical research on the interplay between management incentives, accounting choice, and capital markets, as well as research involving healthcare organizations.In inviting Leone to join the editorial board, the Journal’s editors noted Leone’s “conscientious and thorough referee reports,” as demonstration of his qualifications. The Journal of Accounting and Economics encourages the application of economic theory to the explanation of accounting phenomena. It provides a forum for the publication of the highest quality manuscripts which employ economic analyses of accounting problems.
