School Appoints Leadership Institute Director

Arun Sharma, a professor of marketing, has been appointed as executive director of the School’s Edosomwan Leadership Institute. The institute was founded in 2006 with initial funding from UM alumnus Johnson A. Edosomwan, and the goals of the Edosomwan Leadership Institute are to facilitate global research and teaching in the area of Leadership. Professor Sharma has been with the University for 23 years, held senior positions and has extensive experience working with global organizations.
“The services of the Leadership Institute have never been more important than they are today, as organizations and individuals search for new and innovative ways to adapt to a rapidly changing global business marketplace,” said Sharma. “I look forward to working with the faculty and other constituents of the Institute to continue the development of world-class leadership programs that make an impact.”
The Edosomwan Leadership Institute funds research projects, conducts conferences, supports lecture series and workshops, and develops executive leadership programs. The institute also offers best practices-based programs and products to assist aspiring and experienced leaders in developing dynamic leaders in the companies they lead as well as their own skills.
