April 28, 2016
Cecily Cooper, an associate professor of management, is serving on the organizing committee for the international conference on trust, known as FINT (First International Network on Trust).
The theme of the ninth FINT conference, to be held in November in Dublin, Ireland, is "Reaching Out." It feature keynote speakers Paul Zak of Claremont Graduate University, Bill McEvily, of the University of Toronto. As a neuroeconomist, Zak encourages academics to reflect on the physiological underpinnings of trust and how neuroscience can be used to help us to understand high trust organizations. McEvilyhas been a prominent author in the trust literature for a number of years, writing several seminal papers which continue to challenge our thinking and develop the conceptualization of the trust process.
FINT was created in 2001 at the workshop on 'Trust Within and Between Organizations' in Amsterdam as a group of academics and practitioners from around the globe who are interested in the study of trust.
