Finance Professor’s Home Price Forecast Among Most Accurate of 100 Leading Experts
March 31, 2015
Andrea Heuson, a professor of finance, has been recognized by the research firm Pulsenomics® for providing one of the most accurate forecasts of future home prices made by leading experts for 2010 – 2014.
The firm manages a survey of over 100 distinguished economists, investment strategists, and housing market analysts who participate in the quarterly Zillow® Home Price Expectations Survey™.
Once a year, the firm honors those panelists whose forecasts prove to be the most accurate with a Crystal Ball trophy. Heuson earned a 2014 Crystal Ball Award as the runner-up for the most accurate 2010 forecast for the 2010-2014 time horizon.
Her quarterly forecasts in 2010 for the five-year forward horizon averaged 12.5%, just 1.2% lower than the actual cumulative home price appreciation rate nationally for that period. This is the third consecutive year that Heuson has earned this prestigious award.
