An alumnus of the School of Business will have the rare opportunity to work as a golf caddie for Davis Love III, one the sport’s most well-respected players, after winning a national contest. Claudio A. Kawecki (BBA ’01) was selected from more than 20,000 applicants as the 2011 Caddie for Love grand prize winner in a contest sponsored by professional services firm RSM McGladrey.

Kawecki will caddie for Love III at the RSM International Pro-Am during the 2011 McGladrey Classic October 12. The McGladrey Classic is a PGA TOUR event played on the Seaside Course at Sea Island Golf Club in Saint Simons Island, Ga.

“The golfer/caddie relationship is an important one to me, one that contributes greatly to my success, similar to the relationship McGladrey has with its clients," said Love III, tournament host of The McGladrey Classic. "Claudio understood what voters, McGladrey and I were looking for and I'm excited to have him as my guest and caddie at The McGladrey Classic. Claudio and I are going to have fun at Sea Island, but we'll also be doing some serious work."

Kawecki was named a semi-finalist after submitting an essay and photo that demonstrated his love for and understanding of the PGA Tour, followed by a humorous video submission to www.CaddieForLove.com, ultimately winning him the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

Love III ranks sixth in career earnings and is one of the most highly respected golfers currently on the PGA TOUR. Over his 25-year professional career, he has captured 171 Top 10 finishes and racked up 20 career PGA TOUR victories. In 1997, he won the PGA Championship, and in 2012, Davis will lead Team U.S.A. as Ryder Cup captain.
