School’s Online Professional MBA Now Offers Focus Areas
June 30, 2016
The School’s Professional MBA program has new options for working adults who want to tailor their learning to their career interests in finance or accounting. Starting this fall, students can choose to focus in corporate finance, financial decision making, or accounting practice.
By completing four specialized courses, students also earn a certificate in the focus area. They can space the courses throughout the program and earn the certificate after their degree or frontload courses and earn the certificate toward the beginning of the program.
The corporate finance focus area is designed for students who want to build knowledge in quantitative and analytical methods in finance, corporate finance, portfolio investment strategies, and international valuation to pursue career advancement in the controller’s office, treasury management, capital budgeting, or investor relations.
The financial decision making focus area emphasizes quantitative and analytical methods in finance, corporate finance, investment portfolio selection, financial decision making theories, and behavioral finance.
The accounting practice focus area, created for students who have not taken accounting courses, includes introductory courses and courses in taxation and information systems.
