The American Marketing Association (AMA) is recognizing A. “Parsu” Parasuraman, holder of the James W. McLamore Chair in Marketing and professor of marketing, for his lifetime achievement and contributions to the field of marketing by naming one if its new Global Support Center rooms in his honor.

The AMA will call the workspace, at its new international headquarters in Chicago, “Parasuraman’s Grateful Room.”

The AMA cited Parsu’s “revolutionary work” in services marketing, one of the organization’s strategic priorities, in announcing he honor and said it was humbled to associate part of the AMA work space with a marketer of his character and achievement.

The AMA headquarters is located in Chicago’s historic Prudential Plaza building. The workspace named in Parsu’s honor is one of a number of public workspaces used not only by AMA Global Support Center staff, but as a home away from home for AMA members.

An influential figure in the field of services marketing, Parsu is widely known for his work on the GAPS Model of Service Quality, SERVQUAL, E-S-QUAL, and the Technology Readiness Index (TRI).  He has published more than 130 refereed articles in major journals and was inducted as an AMA Fellow in February 2016.
