Management Science Professor Appointed as Fellow for World’s Largest Statistics Organization

Yongtao Guan, professor and department chair of management science, has been selected as a fellow of the American Statistical Association (ASA). Statisticians around the world are selected for the honor based on their contributions to the profession, to the association, and to society at large.
Guan has previously been recognized by the National Institutes of Health for his work on such innovative research as uncovering cocaine abuse patterns and examining the economic implications.
The American Statistical Association is the world’s largest community of statisticians. The ASA supports excellence in the development, application, and dissemination of statistical science through meetings, publications, membership services, education, accreditation, and advocacy.
