Business Offerings for Non-Business Majors
The business advisors in the Office of Undergraduate Programs, Merrick Building, Room 104, are happy to talk to any University of Miami student about individual courses or about minors that are offered by the School of Business Administration.
HINT: The advisors are a lot happier if you make your appointment before or after any semester’s registration week!
A business advisor can discuss a minor which might complement your major. Or maybe you want to talk about one or two electives. It’s always better to discuss these ideas with the business advisor rather than make an uninformed decision.
Here is a list of minors offered to non-business majors by the School of Business Administration:
Business Administration (a comprehensive minor)
Business Law
Computer Information Systems
Economics
Finance
Health Sector Management and Policy
Management
Management Science
Marketing
Again, make an appointment for ways to make the School of Business a partner in your education.
Note: A business major cannot stand alone, nor can it be used as a major in any other school. A business major is supported by a large group of business foundation courses; it is required to be part of a Business degree.
Information for Declared Business Minors
Information for declared business minors is contained in a handout given to students when they're meeeting with an undergraduate business advisor for declaring one of the business minors.
NOTE: The requirements are specific to each student's catalog edition (year of entry).
If you have more questions, forgotten some of our hints or suggestions, or need other information, see us again. Make an appointment or stop into Merrick Building, Room 104.
